After ALPINA´s very successful return to racing in 2009 as a factory works team, they now pass the torch to Austrian based S-Berg Racing who will champion the ALPINA name in 2010.
Austrian based S-Berg Racing will field the two BMW ALPINA B6 GT3´s that were campaigned so successfully by ALPINA in 2009 (4 victories, 625 kilometers in the lead and nine front-row starting positions) and plans to compete in the FIA GT3 European Championship and the German ADAC GT Masters. At the classic 24h races Nürburgring and Spa-Francorchamps they will have one car on the grid.
S-Berg Racing was established in Austria in 2006 and although relatively new, it brings together years of experience and true passion for motorsport with a young, energetic and proficient team led by owner and manager Hans Weitgasser who has been involved in the international Motorsport arena for several decades, not only as a driver but also as a technical team member (including working as part of the Sauber-Mercedes F1 team, BMW Schnitzer GT1 World Championship/Le Mans 24 Hour and BMW F1 test/race teams).
The team consists of knowledgeable members who are professionals in their industry, combining their excellent workmanship and skills to enable S-Berg to have a platform for success in the international GT competition. Each individual has a passion for the sport and as a team, aims to provide their drivers and partners with nothing short of superb service with reliable, fully maintained and operational, competitive race vehicles throughout the season.
